Two people run every Padel Court Build project. Sam Guest, founder of SustainPlan, leads compliance, planning and design coordination; Alex Winser, founder of WeDo Property Services, manages the build. Around them sit the planning consultants, architects in London and the North, SustainPlan’s assessors and the installers your scheme needs, all working from one set of drawings under one contract. We cover the whole of the UK, and you deal with Sam and Alex, not a chain of separate firms.

Sam has spent around ten years in building compliance and energy assessment. For seven years he ran a building compliance consultancy whose clients included McLaren, Tesco, Camden Market, Chelsea Football Club, the Post Office, the Ministry of Defence, CBRE and Savills. He now runs SustainPlan, a UK compliance consultancy, and is an Elmhurst-accredited energy assessor. On every job he checks the scope, the price and the paperwork, so the work is done right and signed off first time.

Company details

Padel Court Build is run by SustainPlan Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 17085854. 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ.

Who is Sam Guest?

The founder of SustainPlan and the person who leads the compliance and planning side of every Padel Court Build project. Sam project manages the energy statement, the TM52 overheating study, whole life carbon and BREEAM, and works with the planner and architect to clear the problems a council raises before they hold up the scheme. He leads the specialists on each job and draws on a national network of around 300 specialist contractors and assessors.

On Old Blues RFC in Merton, Sam coordinated the compliance work and worked through the council’s planning questions with the planner and architect, while SustainPlan delivered the reports.

Who is Alex Winser?

The founder of WeDo Property Services, with over a decade in the property industry. Alex manages the build side of your project: he runs the job on site, manages the builder and the trades, and is your one point of contact while the base, courts and lights go in. He is hands-on and happy to get his hands dirty, so a problem on site gets sorted on site.

Who is SustainPlan?

The sustainability and building compliance consultancy in the team, and the company that runs Padel Court Build. SustainPlan writes energy statements, Part L calculations, overheating assessments, whole life carbon assessments, circular economy statements and BREEAM assessments. On padel, it delivered the reports for six covered courts and a clubhouse at Old Blues RFC in Merton, and the circular economy assessment for Rocket Padel at Battersea Power Station. See the Old Blues RFC padel case study.

Who are the architects?

Two architecture practices: one in London and one in the North. Each is named here once they confirm. Between them they cover schemes across the UK, and they work to the same design rules on every padel club: open, unheated court halls, a compact conditioned clubhouse, and confirmed areas for every report. More on padel club architects.

Who handles planning?

The planning consultants we work with. They run the pre-application, write the planning statement, submit the application and coordinate every other report so the council reads one consistent scheme. Their side is set out on padel court planning permission.

Who writes the noise, lighting and air quality reports?

Specialists we appoint for each scheme. Padel is loud and courts are often lit into the evening, so most councils ask for these. We brief the specialists, give them the design data they need, and keep their reports in step with the rest of the application. On Old Blues the air quality consultant took our energy figures for the Air Quality Neutral assessment.

Who builds the courts?

Our installers and groundworks teams, with Alex running the site: the ring beam and base, the court frame and glass, the turf, the floodlights and any canopy. See padel court installation.

Will you work with the architect or planner I already use?

Ask us. We can bring the whole team, or slot the sustainability reports into a team you already have.

Do you cover areas outside London?

Yes. We work across the UK, with architects in London and the North. Local planning decisions for each area are on areas we cover.
